What streets will be closed to traffic on Sunday 18 August 2024 and at what time?
6:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Street ČSA (between the streets Divišova – U soudu), Pospíšilova, Šimkova (between the roundabout and Divišova Street)
6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Eliščino nábřeží (embankment), Smetano nábřeží (embankment), Tylovo nábřeží (embankment), Prague bridge, Tyršův bridge, Divišova, Kotěrova, Gočárova (between Prague bridge-Šafaříkova), Karla IV. (between Tyršův bridge and Průmyslova Street), L. Štúra, Havlíčkova.
Will public transport be restricted?
Yes, traffic restrictions will affect a total of 14 public transport lines on Sunday 18 August 2024. These are lines No. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 25, 27, 33. Replacement variants of these lines can be found HERE:
I live downtown, how will the race limit me?
If you live in the city center near a cycling or running route (details can be found HERE:), please check the block cleaning in your location a week before the event and please park your car away in time. On Sunday, August 18, 2024, you will not be able to enter or leave the center between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Why does the event require so many traffic restrictions?
IRONMAN 70.3 Hradec Králové is part of the world series of IRONMAN triathlon races, which takes place in 180 locations around the world. The event has never been held in the Czech Republic and for Hradec Králové it is a significant prestige that has worldwide reach. 2,000 triathletes from more than 40 countries will participate in the race, and for their safety it is absolutely necessary to create conditions that are valid across continents.
What will such an event actually bring to the city and citizens?
The significance of the event for the city and its inhabitants must be perceived on many levels. With this event, Hradec Králové gets the privilege of being alongside world capitals and tourist destinations that are proud to host this iconic sporting event. In the history of the Czech Republic, such a large triathlon event has never been held before, and Hradec Králové is thus profiled not only as a city welcoming major sporting events of world importance, but also as a model in the field of triathlon in our country. For local entrepreneurs and service providers, the Ironman weekend means an impulse of at least 20 million CZK, which visitors will spend during their stay in the region. The participants of the IRONMAN 70.3 Hradec Králové event will spend an average of three nights in the city and travel to the capital of Eastern Bohemia with two other family members.

IRONMAN 70.3 Hradec Králové is not only a race, it is above all a great social event that every resident of the city and region can be proud of. The event includes a wide accompanying program, such as FOOD TRUCK fest, Family zone, IRONMAN Expo, parade of national flags and much more. The opening discipline – swimming in the Elbe, which every spectator can watch from close range – is a truly unique experience in the world.
