1. KUKS HOSPITAL
The Kuks Hospital, originally a retirement place for war veterans, is nicknamed the “pearl of Czech Baroque.” Besides the statues of the allegories of Virtues and Vices and one of the oldest pharmacies, you’ll find the Rentz Museum of Baroque Printmaking, the Jiří Nachlinger Puppet Gallery, and the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum. 2. TREETOP WALK IN THE CZECH KRKONOŠE MOUNTAINS
The Treetop Walkway in Janské Lázně in the Krkonoše Mountains offers visitors a 1.5 km walk that leads not only to the treetops but also to their roots. The trail takes you up to a height of 45 meters, where you can enjoy panoramic views in three directions. You can even ride down on an 80-meter-long slide.

3. TRUTNOV TRAILS
This network of natural MTB trails around Trutnov has been developed by a community for over 10 years and now offers more than 20 trails of varying difficulty, totaling over 50 km. The trail center in Lhota near Trutnov provides various services: refreshments, bike and e-bike rentals, a bike school, a shop and basic service, and guiding services. Thousands of bikers from all over the Czech Republic visit each year, and the trails are also popular among visitors from Poland, Germany, Denmark, and other European countries.

4. JOSEFOV MILITARY FORTRESS
The construction of the fortress town Josefov began in 1780 to protect the northern borders of the Austrian Empire and was completed seven years later. The town served as a massive arsenal, gunpowder storage, food depot, and safe housing for both soldiers and civilians. Wander through Josefov’s right-angled streets, explore its unique structure, and admire the defensive walls and moats.

5. ELBE CYCLE ROUTE
The Elbe Trail (CT 2) is one of the most popular long-distance cycling routes in the Czech Republic. In this region, you can ride from Hradec Králové to Vrchlabí, encountering several interesting stops along the way — such as Smiřice with its cycling pub and castle chapel, the historic town of Jaroměř with the baroque fortress Josefov, and the Kuks complex. The trail also passes through Dvůr Králové nad Labem (home to a famous zoo), by the beautiful Les Království dam, through historic Hostinné, and ends in Vrchlabí.

6. ROZKOŠ RESERVOIR
Rozkoš Reservoir, nicknamed the “East Bohemian Sea,” is located near Česká Skalice and is a favorite spot for water sports and activities. It’s a haven for sailors, windsurfers, and anglers. The northern part is designated for camping and swimming. The campsite offers boat, scooter, bike, paddle boat, and surf rentals. 8. CASTLES ON THE ORLICE RIVER
Do you know why the Divoká Orlice River is called the “Czech Loire”? Just like on the famous French river, you’ll find castles along the banks. While the Loire stretches over a thousand kilometers and boasts 120 castles, the nine-kilometer stretch of the Orlice in the Orlické Mountains is home to four noble residences in private ownership, as well as two castles — Litice and Potštejn.

9. DOBROŠOV FORTRESS
In May, after three years of reconstruction, the Dobrošov Fortress in the Náchod region reopened. Although never completed, the surface includes three buildings and an underground section measuring 750 meters. Visitors can explore a new visitor center with an audiovisual exhibit and cinema, a miniature collection of Czechoslovak army soldiers from the First Republic, and a uniform exhibition.

10. BROUMOV ROCK FORMATIONS
The Broumovské stěny ridge offers far-reaching views from rock viewpoints and is accessible via several hiking trails. The nearly untouched nature features romantic rock formations, gorges, and scenic vistas. This overlooked natural reserve will leave lasting memories. Located in northeastern Bohemia between the towns of Police nad Metují and Broumov, the sandstone relief of the Broumov Walls was declared a National Nature Reserve in 1956 and covers 638 hectares.
